Summary

Secret Knock does not collect personal data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, in the app or on this website.

What stays on your devices

The servers you add, their knock sequences, fwknop keys and settings are stored on your devices. Knock sequences and keys are kept in the system Keychain.

iCloud sync

If you use iCloud, Secret Knock syncs your servers between your own devices through your iCloud account: knock sequences and keys through iCloud Keychain, which is end-to-end encrypted, and the rest through your private CloudKit database, with every field encrypted on the device. We have no access to either. You can turn sync off in Settings and keep everything on one device.

Network connections

The app connects to the servers you configure, to send knocks and to check that a port is open.

To show the public IP address you knock from, the app asks secretknock.app for it. Our server reads the address from the request, returns it and does not store it. You can turn this off in Settings.

Purchases

Purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. We receive no payment details and no information that identifies you.

Diagnostics

The app keeps a diagnostic log on your device, with secrets masked. It leaves the device only if you choose to send it to us, for example by email. Apple may share crash reports with us if you allowed sharing with app developers in your device settings.

This website

This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts. Our web server keeps standard access logs — IP address, time and the requested page — for security and basic statistics, for a limited time.
